A* STAR INDIA YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS THE AGENCY FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH - SINGAPORE

Full scholarships by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A 'STAR) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) for outstanding students from India to pursue studies in Singapore, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Advanced) Level or equivalent. Studies in Singapore at selected Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges will commence in 2010

Value of Award

* Exemption from school & examination fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)
* Hostel accommodation provided
* 1 return economy-class air passage at the start & end of scholarship term
* Annual allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary Level) & SS2.400 (Pre-University Level)
* Settling-in allowance (once only) of S$400 (Secondary Level) & S$500 (Pre-University Level)
* Subsidised medical benefits
* There is no bond attached to both scholarships

Year of Birth : Between 1993 & 1995

Standard Completed in Year 2009: Standard 8

Outstanding Academic Track Record: At least an average of 80% with English as first language in Standard 7 & 8 examinations

SIA Youth Scholarship
(2-year studies in Pre-University 1 & 2)

Year of Birth : Between 1991 & 1993
Standard Completed in Year 2009: Standard 10
Outs tanding Academic Track Record: At least an average of 85% with English as first language in Standard 10 National / State board examinations

Selection Tests & Interviews (in India)

Short-listed candidates will be invited for selection tests in General Ability, English Language and Mathematics in end August / early September 2009. Candidates will be further short-listed for an interview in November 2009.

1 June 2009 (10am Singapore Time / 7.30am India Time) to 15 July 2009 (10pm Singapore Time / 7 30pm India Time)
